Water wheel

It's the end of summer, most people believe, as kids go back to school and Labor Day approaches. South Florida will have summer for a couple more months, however. Which can be good and bad. (For example, one year I hosted Thanksgiving on my patio outside. Many of my family members were in shorts. And still sweating. It kills the Turkey Day ambiance.)
Anyway, back in May, I had great ambitious plans to take my son to all the South Florida water parks and write a review about each one.
I think I wrote two reviews.
The Man-cub enjoyed the first water park, hated the second and loathed the third. So I never even wrote about the third one.
This week, we ended up going back to the first water park he enjoyed so much, and he once again had a great time.
It kills me.
While we were waiting in line for a water slide, I looked up and snapped this picture of the big water wheel. I just loved how the light refracted through the water droplets looks like diamonds.
Ahh, I love me some water parks. And I think my son will too -- just give him some time.

This summer we went to Coconut Cove in Boca. The kids had a great time, even my toddler was stalking ahead of me like he owned the place. We got thundered out one time and ended up getting free passes to fund our second visit.
I also wanted to say that I remember Six Flags Atlantis in Hollywood very well. I used to visit up until my senior year of highschool, not long after I think they shut down. Now it's a big old strip mall, isn't it? I spent alot of bikini-clad summers there.
COOL shot - we love some water and splash parks here as well!!
Ah, water parks. Lazy Rivers. I loves me some Lazy Rivers.
Careful getting all that water on the lens. Just sayin'.
My son is hit and miss on whether he'll like water stuff too.
very cool photo! we had high hopes of taking our little guy to the waterpark capital of the world (or maybe just Wisconsin) Wisconsin Dells this summer... but it just hasn't worked out. maybe we'll book an indoor waterpark for the winter. I love waterparks WAY more than I love amusement parks!
That is such a great shot! I need to take more artistic non-people shots like that one...so cool!
There aren't many water parks in our neck of the woods. We have aquatic centers. Which are really pools with playgrounds in them and a few slides. My kids have only been to a REAL water park a few times and it wasn't that spectacular. This makes me want to bring them to a good one before the summer is over!
Love the photo!
We are total waterpark-aholics. We even did a parents only trip to the new Seaworld park Aquatica in Orlando this summer. (I wrote a review on my site). Parents only because we didn't want the kids to slow us down!!
Oh and by the way I totally remember Atlantis in Hollywood. Me and my old boyfriend used to go there all the time when I first moved to S Fla. I kind of miss the old school parks like that.
A-men sister. The best part is definitely the lazy river, with emphasis on lazy. I wish we had more locally!
Water parks - one of the many things I am looking forward to with my little one. That is a GREAT picture!
Great shot! We've yet to take our girls to a water park, but I can't wait until we do!
Nothing says summer like sunlight and water. It will be a great picture to look back at in a couple of months.. well at least in places like Utah, where we have seasons (for better or worse).
Nicely done!
Very cool shot!
Way cool pic! I hear ya about Turkey day in shorts and sweating.
