A rare sight

Last night, it got down in the 30s.
As in, close to freezing temperatures!
So my husband made a fire in the fireplace.
I know, a lot of people are scratching their heads over why we have a fireplace in our South Florida home. When we were thinking about buying this place, though, we thought it was pretty cool. We certainly didn't grow up having a fireplace.
There are only about three weeks out of the year we can justify having a fire.
But it sure makes the air outside smell great.
As the Man-cub said repeatedly last night, "Mmm! Smells delicious!"

Having a fire place must be a nice conversation piece in FL. I can only imagine how hard those temperatures are for those of you that are not used to it.
At the same time, I wish we would get that "warm" during the day so some snow and ice would melt. Even though I have lived here my entire life it is still hard to deal with the bitter cold and wind.
Stay warm :)
I love having a fireplace, but then it stays cold enough for a fire half the year here. Glad you got to enjoy yours!
hehe I am looking forward to the weather getting WARMER so we can have a fire in the fireplace!
Glad you got to enjoy yours!
I saw that weather on the news this morning and thought of all you Florida mama's. That has to be cold for you! Enjoy those flames while you can!
No fair! You have gorgeous Florida weather AND a fireplace?
