The Twitter baby blanket

When you're 39/40 weeks pregnant and decide to make a blanket for your baby (because you made one for your son before he was born and want to avoid future therapy or at least sibling squabbles) -- and you unwittingly use the Twitter bird in the blanket -- well, you might stop to think you're online too much.

(The yellow isn't really that yellow. And the green isn't really that pea-soupy. And those are a firefly and a caterpillar, if you're wondering.)

(At least the bird is making an attempt to smile.)

Also, I have to wonder: why didn't I start this project sooner? There's nothing like a big belly and enough extra weight to equal another whole Man-cub to make bending over and pinning fabric a new pastime: aerobic quilting. (See, sometimes I actually do exercise.) But I can't really call this a quilt because I'm not that artful.

So the baby has a blanket, the room is ready, friends just gifted me with a carload of diapers and wipes at a sweet baby shower right on the beach, my hospital bag is packed and today is as good a day as any to have a baby ....

Do you think Twiller is a good middle name?

Oops again!

I LOVE the Twitter bird on the quilt. It's a really cute icon, and fits with a baby motif.

Just think - - - when baby girl is an adult, you can tell her the STORY of what Twitter was - - - it will be all vintage then.

Twitterina? Twila? Twitton?

You're too funny. Aerobic quilting. You might be on to something.

When is your edd? Because I think June 24th is the day for you. It's my daddy's birthday and he's a wonderful Boppa.

Love it...the blanket and the twitter bird! Can't wait to see pics of the new bambino chillin' on the twitter blanket. Of course, by this point, I'm sure you can't either.

Aerobic quilting? I am definitely going to have to remember that one. Hilarious, Holly. However, I must say that I am impressed by all that you have been able to accomplish!

Nice blanket - but a weird name. Yesterday I got you over 18% and today I moved you over 19% and tomorrow, I think I can get you over 20%.

That little birdie is EVERYWHERE! What a cute blankie, though. You are very ambitious to tackle this in such an advanced state of preggers. So impressed.

HEHE! Love it...maybe Twitter does make a good middle name...Twitt for short...wait, that's not good.

The blanket is really cute, and now that you've got the diapers, you are good to go.

Cute blanket. I never did any projects when I was pregnant. I never seemed to have the energy. Anyway, as far as names go, this is your baby, name the child whatever YOU want.
