Still desperately seeking hometown girl Dara Torres
Dara Torres! (Just her name is sentence enough. And the exclamation point is totally necessary.)
She's an Olympic gold-medal swimmer. She's a mom. She lives here in my hometown. Longtime readers will remember I tried to get an interview with her and failed.
I admit I haven't been following Dara for a while -- I know, you're shocked. Turns out I'm terrible at stalking people. But recently I saw her touting the HP Mini 110 with Windows 7.
I wonder once again if I have a shot at getting an interview with her about being a Florida mom, Olympian and book author (Age Is Just a Number). (Don't I know it.) If I had the HP Mini 110 with Windows 7, I could use it anywhere in my house where my boys are playing to develop insightful interview questions for Dara. I would tweet about her, since she's on Twitter. Or maybe because she's such a go-go-go person who makes public appearances everywhere, I could use the Mini to interview her on Skype (that is, unless I happen to run into Dara at a local Starbucks). And Dara is on Facebook, so I could use the Mini to write on her wall and tell her how amazing I think she is. And then blog about it all, of course, right on the Mini, which would simplify my life by letting me do it all, anywhere, without being something really heavy to carry. (My six-month-old weighs 21 pounds now.)
Yep, having the Mini would be great. Who knows, maybe I will get one and get that Dara Torres interview. A mom can dream....

HP and the Mom Bloggers Club are giving away HP Minis. Of course, I want to win, but if you leave a comment, you can win too because they are randomly selecting commenters to win one of three! So please leave a comment about Dara Torres. Or swimming. Or the upcoming winter Olympics. Or the HP Mini. Or whatever is on your mind.

That was very well linked post! I have to admit that I am a loser and I don't know who she is, but I think that an interview would be awesome now that I kind of know who she is. But apparently she doesnt' want to do interviews?
I would LOVE to win an HP Mini. I can't even begin to count the ways in which this would simplify my life!
Are you kidding?! O.M.G. If you could get an interview with Dara Torres that would be so totally cool!!!!
This would make my life a lot simpler, I could work even when I am waiting for my kids to finish piano or dance lessons.

I would like it because it the the perfect size to take with me wherever I go
We got an mini for my teen for her 15th birthday. I admit, I was just a little jealous. It wouldn't hurt if I had one of my own. ;) Maybe if you win one, you'll finally get that interview.
Cool post. I have to do a lot of traveling and I use a friend's extra laptop while I'm on the road. It would be great if I didn't have to use his and didn't have to carry such a big thing through airport security!
Something this small would be really convenient for me since I need a computer for work and it is light enough to take on the bus which I use to commute every day. I could check e-mails & bills on my commute. My old laptop was actually stolen recently so I would love a new one! Good luck!

Dara should definitely give you an interview.
Ha! That would be a terribly convenient method of stalking. ;) I've never had a laptop, but man do they look more and more appealing as this toddler of mine gets more and more active.
It perfect for on-the-go computing. I would also be able to easily take it around the house and out to the back yard.
A mini would definitely simplify my life because I wouldn’t have to lug around that big heavy laptop anymore!! And it would fit inside my handbag instead of being so conspicuous in a carry around laptop bag. And besides, you don’t always want to carry your laptop with you but leaving it in the car is a direct invitation to thieves to break in and steal it. Being able to carry it in my purse is a major advantage! Great giveaway!
I would love to have a mini to take with me on the go!
Good luck to you =)
A HP Mini 110 would simplify my life by allowing me to keep up with all of my computer activities (blogging, emailing, entering contests, social networking, surfing the Internet, etc.) when I'm not able to be on my laptop (which just so happens to be a HP) for whatever reason. With 4 kids, the reason I'm not able to be on my laptop could be anything! :O
I am a really busy mom of two teenage sons and am constantly on the go. The HP mini would be perfect for me because I could take it with me everywhere.
Dara Torres is awesome...So is this HP. Would make my life so much easier, and would be something I can call my own.
I am an on the go mom and would LOVE to win this mini hp to organize and simplify my life.
I would love to win this mini. It would definitley help organize and simplify my life.

I have to say that she is one strong woman! Good luck!
Man my life could use some simplifying! I would love to be able to write my blog posts on the go or during lunch breaks. Now if the HP Mini 110 could help me get my daughter to sleep through the night, I would be in LOVE (even more!)

I think it's only fair that since you didn't land an interview, that you should land a HP Mini 110 :) Don't you??
good luck!
I would love an HP mini! It would definitely simplify my life!
good luck, hope we both win!!
Yessss, I want to win an HP Mini 110 ;)

Good luck!
Not sure if it would actually simplify my life, but I'm willing to give it a try:-) Good luck!
I love love love swimming. As a kid I watched the Olympics and all the trials ... I remember when that diver cracked his head on the lower diving board ... ack that freaked me out.
I would love to win this. It simplify my life so much! Good luck!
I think we both could use this laptop. Good luck!
You said to leave a comment about Dara Torres or Swimming or the winter Olympics or the HP Mini... Well, I think that Dara Torres would get very cold swimming during the winter Olympics and she would need her HP mini to keep her busy while laying in bed fighting pneumonia. How's that? hehe
Good luck to both of us.
I think Dara Torres is a great spokesperson! I hope you get that interview someday!
Good Luck to you! I blogged & entered, too!
This HP 100 Mini netbook would be a blessing to our family, as we only have one old desktop to share amongst our family of 7. We rely heavily on spreadsheets, lists, email and schedules, etc. to streamline our day to day activities, and the portability of the HP 100 mini would make it so effortless and stylish. Plus, mobile computing would be perfect to pass the time--when time seemingly stands still--like when waiting in a doctor's office!
Good Luck!

I am in the process of trying to start my own business and I currently work from home...but I rarely stay in one place with my laptop. As I suffer from degenerative disc disease in my cervical spine - coupled with a heavy laptop - changing my "workspace" throughout the day is NOT an easy task.
The HP Mini would simplify my life by allowing me to move my computer from place to place on my own...no more bothering the rest of the family! This netbook would be a true lifesaver!
Thanks so much!

I've trained the British Olympic Swim Team at my Pilates studdio the past 2 years and I've tried to get Dara Torres into my Pilates studio (www.pure-pilates.net) for a while without success. I think she is a very busy woman!!
