Cornhole is one word

Here's a typical conversation between my husband and me after the kids have gone to bed:

Hubs: You remember on our trip when the guys were out back to play cornhole? And Hope came out and asked if I'd ever played cornhole and I said I only watched it on ESPN?

Me: She probably wasn't ready for that kind of answer.

Hubs: I asked if I got extra points for hitting Tom, and he said, "Yes, but I know how you play."

Me: He knows your athletic ability.

Hubs: We played like champions!

Me: Where was Title IX? No one invited me to play.

Hubs: No women came out until Hope. And she was just watching. There wasn't enough interest.

Me: I didn't even know there was a game going on.

Hubs: Exactly.

Me: I think the game was rigged. I think you were taking bets for lack of anything better to do.

Hubs: People say the mob was around, but those rumors are exaggerated.

Me: Ah, cornhole....

Hubs: Are you mocking me? Wait, here.... There are 6500 results for cornhole on eBay. For all your cornhole playing needs.

Me: You get a cornhole! And you get a cornhole! And you get a cornhole! Everybody gets a cornhole!

Hubs: There are only 47 results for lawn darts. So there, cornhole is more popular.

Me: Do you ... need something to do right now?

Hubs: It's late.

Me: Mmm-hmm.

And then the Junebug cries in his sleep because we're probably too loud. Getting worked up over cornhole.

I love my husband.

I am so glad you have these conversations AFTER the boys go to bed - because ... you know ... kids have a tendency to repeat everything they hear ... to total strangers. And teachers. And Grandma and Grandpa. And the next door neighbor.

Cornhole, huh?

Florida is SUCH a strange place.

Where I come from, we call it bags and I like that better than cornhole. FWIW. Cornhole gives the hubs and I the giggles.

I am absolutely incapable of playing, saying, reading or thinking Cornhole without snickering. I'm 12.
